Origins / Notes
Arose in Carse of Gowrie, Scotland, first recorded in 1883. The unusual name comes from a ploughman who was caught stealing apples from the Megginch estate and shot - his wife discarded the stolen apples, one of which gave rise to this variety.

It is generally resistant to Apple scab, Powdery mildew and Canker
