Origins / Notes

Herring's Pippin is an attractive heritage dessert apple producing large red fruits with crisp, juicy flesh and a distinctive aromatic flavour with subtle hints of aniseed. It is also suitable for cooking and is valued for its early harvest and excellent eating quality.

Storage

Stores for around 1 month. Best eating window is from harvest through early autumn while the fruit remains crisp, juicy, and aromatic.
