Kidd’s Orange Red is a dessert apple producing crunchy, very juicy fruit with a sweet, aromatic, honeyed flavour.
It is best enjoyed when fully ripened on the tree, where its flavour develops most fully.

Origins / Notes
Developed in New Zealand’s North Island as a cross between Cox’s Orange Pippin and Delicious. Originally known as Delco, it was selected for its strong flavour, juiciness, and improved storage characteristics compared to its parents.

Good resistance to apple scab and powdery mildew.

Late season, typically October.
Storage
Stores for up to 4 months in cold storage.
Best eating window is from late autumn through winter once the fruit has fully matured and developed its honeyed aromatic flavour.
