Laxton’s Epicure

Laxton’s Epicure is an early-season dessert apple tree producing juicy, sweet, aromatic fruit with fine-grained, crisp flesh, best enjoyed fresh.

Features:

• Juicy, sweet flesh with a delicate aromatic flavour
• Fine-grained and crisp texture
• Best eaten fresh; does not store well
• Moderately vigorous, upright-spreading growth
• Spur-bearing and precocious
• Heavy cropping, with a tendency toward biennial bearing
• Frost-tolerant blossom

Developed by the Laxton Brothers Nursery in Bedfordshire in 1909, Laxton’s Epicure is a classic early dessert apple valued for reliability and fresh-eating quality.

Storage

Keeps for around 2–3 months in cold storage. Best eating window is from autumn into early winter when flavour is at its most balanced and aromatic.
