Marged Nicolas is a traditional Welsh dual-purpose apple from Carmarthenshire, valued both as a bittersweet cider apple and a delicious late-season dessert apple.
Its excellent keeping qualities make it a particularly enjoyable New Year apple.

Origins / Notes
Originating from Carmarthenshire in Wales, Marged Nicolas is a traditional Welsh heritage variety prized for both cider making and winter eating.
It is particularly valued for maintaining quality long after harvest and for its suitability to cooler, wetter parts of Britain.

Hardy and disease-resistant variety with good overall orchard health.

Harvesting Season
Late season, ripening in late October to early November.
Storage
Stores for around 4 months, typically from November through February, and often into early spring under good conditions. Best eating window is from New Year onwards, when the flavour develops further and the fruit reaches its peak quality.
