Somerset Redstreak is a traditional cider apple producing sweet, astringent juice and a mild medium bittersweet cider.
Once one of the principal commercial cider cultivars of Somerset, it remains an important heritage cider variety.

Origins / Notes
Originates from Somerset and was widely established before 1900. It became one of the main commercial cider cultivars in the West Country and remains valued for its heritage and contribution to traditional cider production.

Generally considered a hardy traditional cider variety with good orchard performance.

Harvesting Season
Late season, typically October to early November.
Storage
Should be used within 3 weeks of harvest. Best pressing window is shortly after picking, when the fruit retains its optimum balance of sweetness, tannin, and acidity.
