Sweet Alford is a highly regarded traditional Devon cider apple producing sweet, crisp fruit and a pure sweet juice.
It is valued for making both quality sweet cider and vintage-style cider with excellent character.

Origins / Notes

Not good in conditions of high humidity, exposed sites or on heavy clay soils

Late season, typically October.
Storage
Best used soon after harvest. The ideal pressing window is immediately after picking, when the fruit retains its sweetness, juice content, and cider-making qualities.
