Winston is a highly regarded dessert apple with an aromatic, nutty flavour and excellent eating quality.
It also produces a refreshing, richly flavoured juice and develops even greater sweetness and complexity during storage.

Origins / Notes
Created in Berkshire in 1920 by William Pope from a cross between Cox's Orange Pippin and Worcester Pearmain. Winston combines the rich flavour of its parentage with reliable cropping and excellent keeping qualities.
Disease Resistance
Very resistant to apple scab and canker.

Harvesting Season
Late season, typically September to October.
Storage
Keeps for up to 5 months in cold storage. Best eating window is from late autumn through winter, when the fruit mellows and develops increased sweetness, aroma, and complexity of flavour.
