Woolbrook Pippin is a well-regarded heritage dessert apple producing crisp, juicy fruit with a refreshing balance of sweetness and acidity.

Bred from Cox's Orange Pippin, it combines excellent flavour with strong disease resistance and adaptability to wetter climates.

Origins / Notes

Raised in 1903 by Stevens & Son at Woolbrook Nursery, Sidmouth, Devon, from Cox's Orange Pippin parentage. The variety was awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Merit in 1929, recognising its outstanding quality and garden performance.

Mid to late season, typically September to October.

Storage

Stores for up to 3 months in cold storage. Best eating window is from autumn into early winter, when the fruit retains its crisp texture and balanced flavour.
